I flushed Insecure Girl down the toilet.

Oh, Father's Day. Got my dad a silly little card with a picture of a cute kid picking her nose. Mom and I pooled our monies and got him a nice polo shirt. And that was that.

Got the usual snark about leaving church at 10.15...why are we angry that I don't want to leave my boyfriend hanging at the train station for 20 minutes? Is that such an awful request? As it stood, I literally did show up 20 minutes late, and felt terrible, because I lost 10 minutes due to having to pick up a newspaper, and going all the way back to the house. I have to figure out a new system. Why can't we do the 2 car thing, and leave the other car at Stop & Shop and then proceed to church in one car? It really does save me 10 minutes. I can't ever be on time, I realize this, thanks to the way church and train run, but 20 minutes is just plain rude, and I don't like it. Also, I get tickled more if I'm more late.

Lay on the beach with Tophat, and he played his harmonica. It's wonderful, and I love it. And then he let me play, and that was a lot of fun, except when he laughed at me because my eyebrows dance when I play. I told him that I wasn't going to be playing piano in front of him anymore, then, because I get really into it, and I caress the piano, and sway with the music, and move over the instrument like a lover. Heh. Well, maybe not a lover, but my actions could incite a lover to take me right then, according to a friend in high school. Hee.

Drawing comics = made of win.

Then, we scooted over to the Diamond Deli for foodz, and then on to New Canaan to see the new version of The Taking of Pelham 123. Tophat is a speedwalker of epic proportions. And we passed a little indie band thing warming up to perform on the sidewalk, and cursed our bad luck because we were late for the movie, and they were gone when we came out. Sad panda. The movie was good, actually. I just watched the old one on TV with my parents this week, and I can't decide which one I like better. The bad guys in the old one were infinitely classier, but the movie simply screams "NINETEEN SEVENTIES!!!"...but the new one is way grittier, and in my opinion, much more tense. Regardless, I like both. (I find it interesting that this is the second movie I have seen with Tophat which was a remake of an older film I really enjoyed. And the remakes were both really good. Hrm. I find this trend interesting, and also the whole film quality thing interesting.)

Waveny (spelling, I am sure) Park = awesome. We wandered through an art gallery, and I daydreamed about owning one or more of the metal horse sculptures, and Tophat had a happy spazz about a really awesome, funky bird sculpture. It was only $400, and I really wished that I had enough money to buy it for him, because it really is wonderful, and fun. It reminded him of Kevin from the movie UP, and it reminded me of a combination of Kevin, and a concept which totally could have been in Mirrormask. (I judge things based on creativity which might have been in Mirrormask, haha...SUCH A GOOD MOVIE, holy cow.) We met a huge (!!!) greyhound, which decided I was awesome, and had to be dragged away by its owner. Hehe. Sweet dog. I miss having one. *sighs* And then Tophat and I frolicked every which where through the lawns, and gardens, and paths by the pond and through the meadows, and we thoroughly explored an abandoned Cat. And I made a garland for my hair again. I'm getting really good at it. ^_^

Then homeward bound, where we established ourselves in the kitchen, and proceeded to cook prawn curry with brown rice (I screwed up and didn't realize the basmati took almost an hour to cook, so we had to improvise), mango lassies (yummy as all get out) and garlic naan I found at the Market (a winner of a find). All very delicious, and everybody had enough to eat. Amazing. (Even more amazing is that the recipe claims it serves 6. And there wasn't any left over after the 4 of us ate. All I know is that although we needed 2 lbs, 4 oz of shrimp and only had 2 lb, that it would not have been enough to feed six people unless they all ate like I do.) I'm always afraid I won't make enough to fill everybody up. But I did it! And there was raspberry sorbet for desert. MMMMMMm.

More comics, and then farewell, and Tophat "randomly acquired" a really cool poster. We are both amazed that it lasted at least 3 weeks without getting one or more penii drawn on it. And now it never will. Teehee. I really hope he finds a way to fit it in his car so that he can bring it up to school. Because it is both huge, and awesome, and would look great on a college dorm wall. I need a huge poster too, now. (I initially wanted the one he now has, but he made it his because I was too much of a coward to pull out a knife and cut it down...in my defense, I left my knife in the car.) Perhaps a South Pacific poster? (Actually, those are so freakin' huge, I don't think I'd be able to fit it in our VAN.)

And in other news, life is pretty good, I am going to spend most of today working on my WS film project thingie, and then I have class tonight and hopefully will get out earlyish, because I hate only getting to talk to Tophat for 20 minutes. Grrr. This is mostly due to my Mom's Mary Kay meetings running later than I'd like, because the class gets out earlier than its listed 9.15 time, and she drives me home on Mondays. Feh. Schmeh.

Oh well. Yay for good life!
