A/N: So, uhm, I have no idea where this is coming from. I was just going through some Jacksonville caps yesterday, and next thing I knew, I was writing about their "date" we never saw at the end of the episode.

Read this over on ff.net earlier and really enjoyed the return to s2. I miss these two so much. And I have a soft spot for well done "Post-Jacksonville Date" fics. The ones I've read rarely seem to feel right to me, but yours definitely hit the right notes :D

This is an excellent imagining of what that not-date must have gone like! Very in-character, and sweetly tragic as it needs to be.

(If you'll permit me to make a tiny correction, I think you mean "vulnerable" not "venerable" in the third paragraph from the bottom.)

Sigh. Man, "Jacksonville" is so epic.

Not sure if you got my message on tumblr, so I'm telling you here as well: I love this. Jacksonville is my very favourite episode, but for some reason it's quite hard to find good fic about that episode. And this is really, REALLY good. So, thank you. ♥
