Olivia/Peter fanfic (post-Finale): In Reverse (II)

( Less than thirty minutes after he wakes up, Peter decides that fate is one sadistic bitch. )

She has seen death, and even though it should be the other way around, she's trying to protect him.
Damn Dunhams, always so fierce.
But he doesn't listen of course. No one in this dying universe can keep him away from her.
This just screams PETER to me. Frustrated at those Damn Dunhams who always think of others first, always thinks of protecting others before themselves...even more frustrated because it's the quality he many times loves the most about them -- about her -- too.
And UGH. The way you brought this scene back to that amazing scene in the S2 premiere...how he remembers it hurting then but it feels even more unbearable now...and how it feels not possible now. Not possible for her to be dead when they've gone through so much together...so many dangers and then it's just that one shot through the head that ends that lifetime together they wanted. It was just painful to see him -- hoping beyond hope -- that she would defy the ordinary once again ("I've never met anyone who can do the things that you do") and just wake up for him...just do it one more time.
Gah. Poor Peter!

I remember after the episode aired, people were saying they would have "loved" to see Peter's reaction and Peter seeing her dead body (which is kind of reassuring, to know I'm not the only one who love watching heartbreaking scenes), so this scene came to me, and then I thought about "A New Day in the Old Town" and it was horribly perfect in my head. I JUST NEED TO HUG HIM.
