I have found a new love again for breakfast, the meal I used to skip so often. Instant oatmeal rules, and keeps me sated for a long time.
On a less random note, I have been busier the past month than I was back in January. My paralegal classes are in full swing, though I only have six hours of class a week. Due to that, I still have a lot of free time, most of which I've been spending browsing job/career listings and other help wanted resources. For the past month I've been volunteering at the Eviction Defense Collaborative, and I really enjoy working it! Finally, something to do, that build my resume and doesn't involve flipping a burger =-). EDC is a non-profit in San Francisco that helps tenants respond to lawsuits regarding eviction. Most of the cases I see are non-payment, but there are some exceptions. EDC does not represent our clients, but rather drafts documents which can be submitted to the court as official responses to the lawsuit. All clients of EDC are Defendants in pro per, which is a fancy latin phrase that I don't know the literal translation for, but is essentially self representation.
I can see myself sticking around here for a while, even if it is unpaid. Learning HotDocs software will help set me up for getting a legal job in the near future. Plus, my entire work ethic is a bit rusty. With school and EDC, I'm decently busy. Now I just need to find something to do that pays...
