New Year - New Post!

Better late than never I suppose. My last post of 2005 was a sad one, announcing as it did the sad death of my Grandad. That was back in November and of course since then we've had the festivities of Christmas and the coming of a brand new year to contend with. Blimey, that was hard work!

Hee, I expected a derogatory Mac comment. I heard all the arguments for and against, made my decision and will never go back! I don't even know 'how' to turn the ibook off. . . I've never needed to. Still I guess it helps that my guy is a bit of a geek (last night he attempted to explain binary to me and was met by a looong blank stare), used to build his own PCs and all that then opened his own recording studio, for which the mac is pretty much industry standard equipment. He was a hesitant convert but has grown to love those fruity little pooters. Being a geek he of course now knows everything about em so my questions are immediately answered - manual, what manual?

I have to say I loooove the pie shop in Reading, the boyf's brother lives there and we're frequent vistors. Where the HELL is this milkshake oasis?! I demand to know dagnammit!!

Is Chris the Chris O that I went to junior school (in Oakley) with? I'll never forget his kung-fu moves in the playground. . . Bless. You're all still regularly frequenting La-la land then? Every so often the phrase 'wiffle bat' pops to mind and I can only attribute it to my unfortunate exposure to your gaming sessions when I was young and vulnerable. I still maintain an irrational fear of many sided dice and frightening Japanese anime. Damn you all!

Hey the North West is alright, got a house in the burbs (frightening) and a tortoise called Charlie. He rocks. Or perhaps I mean he is rock-like. . .

Where in Newbury you at then? I used to work for Griffins accountants in London Road but that of course was about a bazillion years ago. . .

It is a bit of a trek to Reading, but one which I have to make about once a month. Although I'm working for IBM in Manchester, my team is still based in Basingstoke you see and I have to come back for monthly team meetings. I usally stay at my Aunt's house just on the outskirts of Reading (Shinfield).

Therefore I've cultivated a massive loathing of the M6 and M40 motorways but at least I get paid expenses for the trip!
