Okay. I've been busy. Time for bullet format!
--I was a cast member of The Vagina Monologues, which just wrapped up yesterday. I performed the monologue "The Woman Who Loved To Make Vaginas Happy" - it's a hysterical one about a lesbian dominatrix. I met some of the strongest, most amazing women doing the show, and am hoping that the promise of monthly Vagina parties is one that'll hold. Oh, and my mother totally came to support me, even though I warned her I was going to be faking an orgasm on stage. (Actually, not just AN orgasm. Many, many orgasms. There's a LIST.) This is one of the reasons why my mother is FREAKING AWESOME.
--I am in rehearsals right now for All's Well That Ends Well. I am working on my hippie chick persona and having the time of my life. Must remember to ask out my Bertram for coffee...we need bonding time.
--I proposed a show for Shakespeare on the Lawn to do for next semester, and it passed! I will be directing Measure for Measure, or as I like to call it, M4M: The Sexy Version. It will be dark and wickedly hot and I'm already planning music and costumes and sex scenes and OH MY GOD SO EXCITED.
--Stage managing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged! at the end of my semester. Am excited that I finally have time to do this in. Must meet with director and find out everything I've missed in the last few weeks. Also need to set about groveling for Grant to borrow some of the props I collected last summer.
--Sent off my application for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts Acting Shakespeare Summmer Course today. It's an eight week program that runs from the beginning of June to the end of July. I'm currently working like crazy trying to be able to afford to go ($1000 plane ticket, exchange rate not good, lots and lots of money is needed...) But if I get in, it will be probably the crowning moment of my life so far. So pray for me.
It is a really good thing that I love being busy, because otherwise I would go insane. But honestly, I look at everything that I've got going and there's just this utter *glee.* Because I feel like I'm building my career here, and I'm doing something that fills me with such fierce joy. Everyone should spend their lives doing something they love so much as I love every aspect of theatre.
And all else I have to say is that Heath Ledger won the Oscar he so deserved last night, and I am smiling through my tears.
