1) Twisted phone cords. I wander around the office untwisting people's phone cords when they're on break; I untwist phone cords at parties & when I visit people's houses. (Well, those houses that still have cords on their phones.) I've been untwisting phone cords for many, many years; when I was *really* obsessed, I'd try to get out that last remaining pair of twists where the spiral changes direction. I can't express how happy I am that cordless phones have mostly gotten rid of this nuisance.
2) Latex balloons. The kind that pop. I hate them. I have always hated them. (Or at least, as long as I can remember.) Non-air filled balloons are okay--helium ones that just float there, or water balloons. But I do not play "pass the balloon" games at parties; I do not like balloon animals; I do not rub them on furry things to make them stick to the wall with static electricty. Which leads me to...
3) Static electricity. Don't like shocks; don't like crackles in my clothing. Don't like electricity in general. (Or I don't like dealing with it in its raw form. Electricity that stays inside tubes & wires is okay.) Have avoided filing things for *days* in winter, in order to avoid touching the metal filing cabinet that's prone to giving static shocks. Have used pencils to grab folders from wire racks. Have covered my hand with my sleeve to open car doors.
