So far so good in the new apartment. It's good for what it is, and I want better eventually. I'm grateful for it, though. It's a vast improvement over the trailer.
Today I am waiting on the delivery of my mattress. I ordered
this memory foam mattress off of Amazon. Very exciting! Would be more excited if I weren't so tired. I'll be more excited once it's here and on my bed, I'm sure.
Living here is an object lesson in not caring what people think and just being my self. This is a 50 unit building, and people here are nosy as all get out. They notice when I don't get out, and when I do, scrutinizing my every move and those who come and go with me, and commenting accordingly. The first week I got, "You don't get out much, do you?" Well, now that I'm getting out, I'm getting watched.
I suppose that, as compared to some of the others here, I am fairly exotic. I don't fit in here at all actually, nor do I have any intention of becoming more like my neighbors as I rather like who I am and have no desire to become more common. August should be particularly intersesting as I am going to GenCon again.
I suppose I'll have to get used to their gawking and talking. And as long as it stays that, they can be entertained by my life as long as they want.
