Today I decided to dig in and get done what I could. The housework had horribly backslid last week. So, I got up and after a cup of coffee I got on my hands and knees to start cleaning clutter from the floor up.
Yes, I know conventional wisdom says that I should work from the top down, but I'm not a conventional person, and I recognized that once I have the clutter off the floor I can move around in my manual chair to work on things at table top level and schlep things from one end of the house to the other.
So I left the computer on, but turned on
EmPower Posi-Tive Radio and went to work. Having some tunes playing helps keep me moving and keep boredom while cleaning at bay.
Three hours later, I had the floor in the living room, dining room, and hallway picked up as well as the dining table plus part of the tables in the living room.
Tomorrow, I will continue where I left off see if I can do at least that much, if not more. I think where I erred before was in pushing to doing too much at once. And, kind of like trying to jog a mile when you've been a couch potato for years, it just ends up exhausting me and after the necessary recuperation I've lost my groove and am slow to start again. I need to build up to it. Three hours today, then maybe four tomorrow.
Actually, how long I put in is irrelevant to the fact that I made significant progress without working to the point of dropping by working smarter and not letting myself go into Super Woman mode. I really feel quite pleased with myself today.
I really want to get myself set up so that I can keep organized. If that means labeling every damned thing, so be it. Anyone have any advice or know of any tools that may help me with this?
Anyhow, now I'm tired. I think I'm going to head to bed and get some sleep. Staying up watching late night TV is not conducive to having a productive day tomorrow.
