Beginning of Fall...

My, my. Here we are again... Me being lackadaisical between posts. Let's see...what's been up...

August was my first month alone in the apartment. It wasn't too lonely, though. Between a few parties in the beginning of the month, a trip to Pennsylvania, and Lacey, this hasn't been much of a bachelor's pad.

Going back to PA was awesome. It was the first time I was home since Dec 26. I got to see nearly my whole family, including my Uncle's fiancee. Yay! He has been seeing her for nearly 2 years, and I only NOW got to meet her, almost 2 months after they became engaged.
I spent a day in Philly with Mom - basically just to go get a cheesesteak and a margarita.
I spent 3 days with Dad, going to a microbrew festival, eating dozens of crabs, and seeing my Grandmom, Uncle, and Aunt-to-Be.
Then Mom and I went to New York City, basically just for music. Hee hee. We walked around all day and capped our day by eating at O'Looney's for some great Irish food.
I drove back the next day. How crazy! What a fast-ass trip.

I came back here and have been running around all crazy-like ever since. Buffalo Wild Wings (now with Lacey & Becky but adding Maggie tonight!); VD (still waiting for our CD...how fucking ridiculous!); work; SIUE Orchestra (I get to conduct...yahoo!!!). I'm so super excited to be conducting it hurts. Yay!

I've been spending most of my free time with Lacey. Things are going well there, I do believe. :-)

...and that's all, I do declare. Fall is coming. I'm always envigorated by fall. The crisp air, the chill in the wind... It's great but sad at the same time. Most of my falls have been a bit sad or disappointing, so this change of seasons is always bittersweet. Time for Matt Nathanson, Howie Day, and all that good stuff... Fun times.

**I usually am not the sentimental type, but let us take a short moment to remember the vicitms of September 11, 2001 - all of those lives wasted. Hate sucks.**
