Recent cool things

Hee, today was fun. Mommy and I went to the Japanese Cultural New Year's Festival thing over in Moilili. They had some cool performers, including mochi pounding, a Capoeira group, various dance schools, and an Eisa group. Eisa is that Okinawan drum dance with karate influences that a bunch of us tried doing for an International Day perfomance at Pacific U. And guess what. One of the numbers the Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko Hawaii team performed was...(drumroll) Sanshin no Hana, the song we did! XDDD I nearly got up and started dancing with them.

It's so strange. Now that I'm home, I want to be involved in so many things; a vast difference from before, when I hated the idea of being involved in anything other than my books. I can't wait until I'm in shape enough again to rejoin Wushu. I really want to join either the Eisa group from today, or another traditional Japanese dance school. And I hope that University of Hawaii has those discounted Capoeira lessons this semester too, because I want to do that, too. Of course, I have to join the Japanese Culture club on campus as well, and the anime club doesn't sound too bad either. *facepalm* Who am I and what have I done with Homebody Me?

Oh, and *happy dance* I finished my translation notebook!! First notebook I've completely filled, cover to cover, in.... ever, I think. This is exciting. And now I get to start on a new notebook that actually isn't all that new, as it's been sitting, untouched, on my shelf for years. But! I am excited because if I keep this translation thing up, (which I believe I will, because I really really enjoy it) I'll get to finish more notebooks! I'm not sure why that makes me as happy as it does, but there you have it. (^_^)
