In honor of the political protests going on in Washington D.C., complete with John Boehner not knowing
his Declaration of Independence from his Constitution to the United States of America (didn't he watch History Rock like the rest of us?) and the protestors arrested for littering outside Nancy Pelosi's office, this seems the perfect poem to honor
Representative Michelle Bachmann's (R-Minnesota) assault on Congress: Remember, remember, the 5th of November
The Gunpowder Treason and plot ;
I know of no reason why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes,
'Twas his intent.
To blow up the King and the Parliament.
Three score barrels of powder below.
Poor old England to overthrow.
By God's providence he was catch'd,
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Have I mentioned how much I miss
Helen Chenowith? There was a fabulous sex scandal to go with all that insane posturing.
