December 9th: 4:30 AM Leave for Manchester Airport
5:45 AM: Board Plane...Sat on said plane for 1 1/2 hours while they de-iced, refueled, and de-iced again :(
7:30 AM: Finally take off for Savannah, GA and Molly's House to celebrate Gradbirthmas (ie: Molly's Graduation, Liz and Rodney's Birthdays, and the Yarrington Family Christmas)
Noon: Arrive at Savannah. Meet Molly, Cecily, and Bram at the luggage pick up. We are Starving! Haven't eaten since breakfast at 4:30 AM. Because of the delay in Manchester, we did not have our planned lay over in Atlanta.
1 PM: Finally arrive at Molly's Victorian Apartment. Collapse on Couch and are Served Delicious Sandwiches and Juice. Funny how things taste so wonderful when you are starving.
We basically vegged out for the rest of the day and met up with Leon and Liz when their flight arrived later that evening. We enjoyed a lovely dinner of grilled goodies and then celebrated Liz and Rodney's Birthdays when Rodney finally arrived around 11 PM.
Midnight: We travel to Tybee Island where Molly has reserved a nice beach house for us. SLEEP!!!!!
December 10th: 7 AM Wake up...so early...need coffee...
8 AM leave for Molly's Graduation (At least it was a nice short ceremony with no speaker)
Noon: Head over to Bubba's Oyster House for Lunch. Rodney decides to order 12 oysters and convinces Dan and I to try them. Not as bad as I thought, but not something I would eat regularly. At least now if I get stuck on a desert island I know I can eat raw Oysters :)
Evening: Back to Molly's House for "Christmas Eve" and Tree Decorating. We play games and enjoy each others company.
1 AM: Travel back to Tybee
December 11th: 10...11...12ish we roll out of bed and get ourselves together to spend christmas morning. Lots of present opening. Talia (our niece) is especially excited to help open all of the gifts. Who wasn't when they were 2 1/2 years old? I received Chainfire (book number 10 in the Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind), some nice new ornaments, and some other little odds and ends. Daniel got X-Men Legends II for Game cube.
2 PM: Dinner Prep begins and the craziness starts. Never try to fit 5-6 people in a tiny Victorian kitchen, it's not pretty. Too many things trying to be done at once. Things get over cooked, people blame other people, etc. I manage to save the potatoes after they accidentally get burnt slightly (don't really know how you burn potatoes boiling in a pot of water, but it happened). Thank goodness for sour cream, garlic, and parsley.
December 12th: Girls day at the Spa! Molly Rented out the whole spa for us and we spent the day drinking Mimosas, eating pastries and sandwiches, and relaxing as we were pampered. Then we went on a little tour of Downtown Savannah. The evening was spent playing more games as usual.
December 13th: Enjoy breakfast together on Tybee and leave for the Airport. All in all it was a nice trip.
End Part 1 of the Holiday Season.
