I've had this feeling for a long time about Colin (since he was 2), that he falls somewhere in the asperger spectrum. I just have no idea what I need to do to get him tested and where to go. It is also his level of frustration, his outward signs when he gets frustrated, like itching, a slight rocking. He will pay great attention to detail about the things he wants only and has a hard time with empathy with other children.
Since I homeschool, and always have, there hasn't been someone there to say, hey, this might be a problem. I've always just dealt with it, but think that if I knew for sure, it would be a great benefit. Especially for his speech. He doesn't get gender have the time. He KNOWS the difference between boys and girls, but when referenceing ot talking about them, they are always he, him, or that guy. And like I said, he has a odd speech pattern.
