I've been at my parents the last week and a half, taking care of Grandma for them while they are on a cruise for thier 35th anniversary. I have a whole new respect for what they go through.
Besides the mental and emotional depressions and exhaustion, I can't help but see how differently she treats Colin. A little background. Grandma had 3 sons, she always wanted a girl. Colin gets barked at, is constantly asked what are you doing, get away from that, don't touch that. etc. Alyson, doesn't get any of that and I have actually her Grandma say to Alyson (about her own brother) "you watch out for him. He's up to no good. Keep an eye on him. He's going to steal my stuff". Uh...WTF?
