Had our Homeschool "Back to school" party yesterday. It turned out really nice. We have 2 new families this year and they are really nice and excited about the group.
Next week, we will be having Picture Day. Since I have a rather nice camera I thought I would put it to use and take some portrait pictures of the kids as well as a group picture. I'm going to pass out a getting to know you sheet as well. We plan on putting together a Homeschool Year book with everyone getting a thier portrait and a little bit about themselves on a page, as well as the group photo and photo of activities from the year. It should work out really well and the kids will love it :)
Most of the kids in the group were previously in public schools, and while they like homeschooling much more, they do miss some of the "school" type activities like picture day and the class parties.
Homeschooling is still going well. Aly is learning ABC's right now. She can sing the song, but I got her learning the actual uppercase and lowercase letters. Colin is going super fast at reading. The other day we learned the "silent" e rule, or magic e as he likes to call it. His math skills are improving as well, and everyday we learn a new song and do an art/craft.
Colin also lost his 3rd tooth! Wow! :D
