Yesterday was pretty awesome.
At work, my boss needed me to run to Lowe's. But I didn't have a car, so he gave me his truck key. I managed to not cause any vehicular damage. I think it's a compliment to me that I've worked for him for a week, and he feels comfortable lending me his truck. Maybe he's not as obsessive about it as dad is about his truck.
I think, rather, that the part we needed for a demo was the highest priority. The needs of the many and so forth.
I got done early, so I took CyRide home, instead of waiting for a parent to ride with. As I walked along N. Dakota, I realized something. There was a firetruck and a police car and a lot of other cars parked right in front of my house. Apparently someone had a care with a new engine, and one of the oil hoses burst and it crashed and everybody died no one got hurt, but they all left before the police arrived. So someone asked me if I was tied to the car. "Umm, no, I live here." That seemed to satisfy him. So I went on inside, because the half-scorched car wasn't doing anything interesting, and the firetruck/volunteer firefighters from Gilbert were leaving.
Then I got home. And logged on to the internet. And found that my latest post had been answered. I think, because of the speed of her response and directness of the comment, Ellen wins the free movie award. This is good, because after I posted my post I realized that concealing a sandwich to get it into the theater would probably have some difficulties. Especially because I don't use any sort of bag or manpurse.
Nevertheless, I think I shall still attempt to include sandwiches in the social excursion. Either as a prelude or an intermission (probably not) or a postlude (conclusion?).
Obviously, the most difficult part of any of this is dealing with my parents. I can't tell them I'm mostly just doing it for the movie. Which means I have to acknowledge some sort of romantic interest (real or imagined). The things I do for free movies...
Speaking of free movies, I got some of those free movie dealies from Family Video for good grades. The only problem is that there aren't very many good movies. Or rather, most of the good ones are not eligible for the free rentals. Actually, walking around the outside wall of new releases, I was surprised by how many crappy/unrated/dumb movies there were. Although perhaps I shouldn't be, considering how crappy/unrated/dumb people can be.
