now in DC.

It is official - I am not a suit and heels person - I am a jeans and over-sized T-shirt person. Comfort before class, I tell you. It's the way of the future.

Great lecture on the U.S.-Japan Security Alliance yesterday. :) I am learning so much I didn't know. Afterwards there was a discussion on cultural differences in language (for example, "I'm sorry" means different things in the U.S. and Japan) which kind of spiraled off into a discussion of identity. At that point I couldn't contribute much, but listening to others' opinions was very intriguing.

I can't wait to not have to wear black all the time anymore <3

Also, Becca has my host school (which I might have mentioned) which makes me sooo happy. And I got to talk to Saori via Skype, and Kanna via Skype video chat! I hadn't talked to either of them in a while. <3 Saori is in China! And this winter she's going to France. SO jealous. Kanna is finally in the US doing orientation for college, so we did a video chat so she could practice her English (which is already great).

Aaaaah I miss Morioka!!! I want to go baaaaack.

Meeting Kanna and Saori were absolute highlights of the trip. I hope I can meet them again when I go back.

So JEALOUS of Chris and Lydia who are there already!

and fyi, emotional roller coaster is still huge and complex. Life goes on.

life, japanese, my friends are bad@$$
