(no subject)
Tonight was fun. Kathryn, Liza, Erin, Sogand, and Erika came over, ostensibly to have a Jacuzzi and Bonfire Bonanza, but ending up more just the chillaxing and catching up on gossip. Apparently a whole bunch of teachers from my old high school have quit, sick of the budget cuts and not being treated fairly. One of my two favorites has gone over to teach at a private school.
It was fun. Only lasted about three hours (though Kathryn and I chatted for another hour after everyone else had left), but it was a good time. We got started so late because people had to work until 8 or 9 pm (one nice thing about my job - no weekend shifts). It was really great to see Erika especially, since I hadn't seen her all summer. She's doing a Navy ROTC thing that took her to Thailand and the Philippines this past year. Juliet, Amy, Kate, and Sara couldn't come, sadly. Rini said she was going to come, but must have been too tired after work.
It was nice to catch up with everyone. Hopefully I'll get to see one or two of them at least one more time before I head back to school. Which is creeping up so uber fast. It's shocking.
I'm excited, though.
I'm reconsidering become an editor. I like the idea of being paid to read books... even the crappy ones. ~_^ It's the paper work and the stuck-in-an-office thing that repels me, though.
