SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the job at the hospital! YAY!!! Yeah, it's only 16 hours a pay period, but it's definitely a foot in the door at the hospital. It's always hard to get a hospital job if you don't have special skills like my husband does. I will probably have to find another job to add to it, but then in December, one of the ladies that has the full time job where I'll be working is retiring and I might be able to take on that job. It's a daytime shift and I'll be fully trained by then, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for that. I don't start the orientation till Aug 14th. I have a week to get the drug testing done and then sometime in the next 2 weeks I have to go in to take care of paperwork.
In September, Rick is changing to a day shift position. He was told he got the shift yesterday but since the August schedule is already done, they won't start him till September. That's good for us because we'll (hopefully) be smart enough to get some money saved up a little, or take care of some stuff before he changes. He will lose his shift diff so that part of it will suck, but at least we'll be able to spend more time together.
In other, boring news, I've seen some decent movies lately. We ordered from NetFlix and got Derailed, with Jennifer Anniston. Very good and very different from what I've seen from her in the past. Also got one called 11:14 that has Hillary Swank, among others, that was a dark comedy. Very clever and fun movie. Very well done. I also ordered Syriana from On Demand, yesterday and it was excellent. Well done, well directed, acted, everything. Had a surprise ending that was disconcerting, but made sense. I think George Clooney was right in gaining weight for his part. It was much more interesting that he was an out-of-shape middle-aged man in the part than if he'd been some Hollywood hunk playing the CIA guy. Great film. Makes you think and it's scary because I believe crap like that happens. Crap = Big Corporations and Government working for their own ends and fuck the little guy. It's just very stark and in your face, but not like Fahrenheit 911.
Hmm... well, guess that's all for now. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
