LYRICS WEDNESDAY!
I was going to start it back up last Wednesday, but had a long day at work and then remembered about it when it was midnight or so and already Thursday. I've gone and promised myself that I really need to put some downtime in WoW (yes, it's true), and with Okami coming out today, what better excuse to start getting back to my normal internet groove?
And so, without further ado:
Paul Simon
Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard
The mama pajama rolled out of bed
And she ran to the police station
When the papa found out he began to shout
And he started the investigation
It’s against the law
It was against the law
What mama saw
It was against the law
The mama looked down and spit on the ground
Every time my name gets mentioned
The papa said oy if I get that boy
I’m gonna stick him in the house of detention
Well I’m on my way
I don’t know where I’m going
I’m on my way I’m taking my time
But I don’t know where
Goodbye to Rosie the queen of Corona
Seeing me and Julio
Down by the schoolyard
See you, me and Julio
Down by the schoolyard
In a couple of days they come and
Take me away
But the press let the story leak
And when the radical priest
Come to get me released
We was all on the cover of Newsweek
And I’m on my way
I don’t know where I’m going
I’m on my way I’m taking my time
But I don’t know where
Goodbye to Rosie the queen of Corona
See you, me and Julio
Down by the schoolyard
See you, me and Julio
Down by the schoolyard
See you, me and Julio
Down by the schoolyard
Radiohead
Fake Plastic Trees
Her Green plastic watering can
For her fake Chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth.
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans.
to get rid of itself.
And It Wears Her Out, it wears her out
It wears her out, it wears her out.
She lives with a broken man
A cracked polystyrene man
Who just crumbles and burns.
He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins.
And It Wears Him Out, it wears him out
It wears him out, it wears him out.
She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My Fake Plastic Love.
But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run
And It Wears Me Out, it wears me out
It wears me out, it wears me out.
And if I could BE who you wanted
If I could BE who you wanted,
All the time, all the time, ohhh... ohh...

Paul Simon always gets me in a dance-y mood, so it'll come on the radio and I'll be singing along at my desk, swaying to the music. It's a good thing that most people in my office can't see me because of boxes or filing cabinets. I'm sure they'd worry. I remember walking around in Borders with
gotelc and a few others, and he was dancing along to Paul Simon, without a clue who it was or anything like that. It made me laugh, alot. Who was using a bastarization of this lyric for their Auto-Ding message? /lol
Fake Plastic Trees. Revenge of the lyrics you'd never make out if you heard the song, I think. We all thought we knew them when this song was new and fresh... but really, we just mumbled or hummed along because we didn't. I remember the video, it was awesome, interesting, even if it was just staring at the lead as he sat in a grocery cart and was pushed around a store....
Thank you, You Tube....
