The Helds and I, ok, really it was Brian and I, went trolling through the Quarter last night. Dawn went to a function for her school, and so, I tagged along.

Got down to the Quarter, then promptly hopped over to Tower Records (which is now open till 8! Shit yes!), picked up a Flogging Molly "Within a Mile Home" and Franz Ferdinand's self titled album.

Apparently, unbeknownst to us, there "Krewe of Cork" was down there tonight as well, tearing up and down Royal with their wine glasses in hand, going into all the galleries well after their normal closing hours. It was cool. We probably could've blended in except for the fact that all they had was finger food, and we were looking for real food at this point.

After that, we went to this awesome Irish Pub, and I hate that I can't remember the name of it right now. Anyway, it's between Royal and Burbon on St. Louis Street. So, one fish and chips, one irish stew, one "better than bass" and one vodka sour later, we're still in the bar, chatting and killing time. Brian goes to "investigate" the premises, you know, looking for a new Irish pub hang out. The couple next to us looks over at me and asks if I know "Charles Axelrad"....

Ok, time to fish through all my scattered memories dealing with the store, gotelc, and more to try to place these two people. They're actually gotelc's girlfriend's parents. We're chatting it up, and they're cool, even if they are a little schlitzed. Alot of time passes, which is good since that's why we were there.

Gotelc, shhh, don't tell your woman that we think her parents are ok.

Anyway, after that, we picked up Dawn, who obviously had one too many drinks (she only had the one) and ventured to the car and then homeward.

Looks like I'll have someone to go to HIM with on Tuesday. Or I'd better. I might cry otherwise.

drinking, trolling, music
