Glee-squee!

Glee, episode 2x13, "Comeback".

I don't really have much to say about this episode. It seems to be considered one of the weakest - I'm mainly missing Kurt - but I still have a few things I want to say.

Firstly, I cannot believe they dressed all the boys as Justin Bieber and all the girls as Rachel. ^^;; This show is truly insane. Completely deranged.

But the best costumes were the Glee Club in their underwear. That was hilarious. And it said so much about each of them, or at least, the way they are each perceived by those around them: Quinn in virginal white lace, Santana the man-eater, Finn the childish one, etc.

I'm continuing to love Lauren. Man, I love that woman's confidence! There is nothing more appealing than confidence, it's true, and it's part of what makes Lauren so amazing.

Sam needs to stop listening to other people for advice on how to be popular, including Finn, Quinn, and Santana, and he needs to embrace his inner nerd instead. It would make him so much more interesting.

And then there's Santana, still wreaking havoc with everyone's relationships left, right, and centre.

This time it was encouraging Sam to dump Quinn. Not that that relationship was ever going to last, but still.

Finn is still a jerk. His moments of nice-ness to Rachel don't make up for that. I'd forgotten he was almost as bad as Puck once (cheating, bullying, slashing tires), but now I'm suddenly reminded of that fact. Please grow up, Finn.

And now Rachel's single and singing lesbian songs with Mercedes. Well, no, the show decontextualised the song, and I suspect the only reason it was used here is because it's a broadway duet between two women. But still.

I'm continuing to love this friendship. I love them both and I love that they get along these days.

And I agree with Rachel in the end of the episode. As good as that last song was, and as much as it brought the group together (temporarily) it won't win them the competition. It just wasn't good enough. New Directions are pretty scattered and consumed by internal drama at the moment (again), and to compete against the discipline and cohesion, not to mention the skill, of their competition, they need something bigger, deeper, and more colourful at Regionals. Hopefully they can at least pretend to like each other, like they did at Sectionals.

I'm very curious now to see the episode of original music. Not that it's going to be much different for me, because I generally don't know any of the music on the show as it is (apart from the show tunes and older music), but I'm still curious.

And Sue... I *love* that Sue is now helping Aural Intensity. Glee can never have enough of Jane Lynch, so it's good that Sue now has a new purpose after losing out in the cheerleading competition. The Sue vs Schue war continues.

So Regionals will be New Directions, The Warblers, and Aural Intensity. I assume Vocal Adrenalin got shunted to another group/region because of the tie that added an extra show choir to the competition? Or is that applying too much logic to this gloriously ridiculous show? Anyway, it will be an interesting competition anyway.

Short post, but I'll make up for it next week, because I have a lot to say about that episode. Ye gods. Be warned.
