MAGICAL GIRL MONTH: it should be noted that the original entry used a dr girlfriend icon.

anbaachan celebrates magical girl month with a post of some of her favorite magical girls, and graciously allowed me to repost from her locked entry! :D

l_elfie has declared it to be MAGICAL GIRL MONTH, in which we celebrate...girls who are magical!

Here are my picks:

1. Kinomoto Sakura

Unlike most magical girls, Sakura never wears the same costume twice. And she's spunky and sweet and driven almost entirely by selfless motives, both as a Cardcaptor and in her everyday life. ♥ My favorite CLAMP work, by far.

2. Jane Addams

"I do not believe that women are better than men. We have not wrecked railroads, nor corrupted legislature, nor done many unholy things that men have done; but then we must remember that we have not had the chance. " (1897, at a rally supporting universal suffrage)

Nobel laureate, pacifist, brilliant sociologist, and the matriarch of social work in the United States. In 1889, she founded Chicago's Hull House, which provided job training and education to Chicago's poorest residents--a type of charity unheard of at the time. She later became a leader in the Woman's Peace Party and tirelessly advocated for peace, civil rights, and social reform. YOU GO GIRL.

3. Karen O.

The brilliant lead singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who manages to be truly bizarre and impossibly hot all at the same time. And if costume changes are a prerequisite to magical girl-ness, then we've got you covered.

SO FEROSH. ♥ ♥ ♥

Who are your favorite magical girls, both fictional and otherwise? Even better, post them! :D
