No problem ;)

Rishid and Malik's bond reminds me of Mahaado and Atem's, though the motives of each one differ a bit.

Here are some headcanons that crossed my mind dealing with it :

#1: Rishid's loyalty to his adoptive brother is partly due to his guilt about Mother Ishtar's death. A few days before Malik's premature birth, she had to face her husband to protect him because of a broken pottery. This led to her taking a whiplash, after having pushed Rishid aside.

Her accouchement was due to exhaustion but this doesn't stops Rishid to feel a pang in his heart whenever he thinks of it and take look at Malik to check if he's fine.

#2: Despite all of this, it is not impossible that Rishid has deep down an irrational and unconscious resentment toward Malik. Whether it be due to this latter's arrival leaving him in the shade, or because the matriarch's death still remains obscure. Feelings can be pretty confusing sometimes.

#3: After his dark self was destroyed and their return to Egypt, Malik tries to make up for his earlier misbehavior toward his brother by often going out with him, helping him in finding a job, and having him meet some nice woman (although this latter task can be really trying at times).

#4: Whenever the three of them are reunited, Malik can't help noticing Rishid distancing himself from him and Ishizu.
Malik's last idea to remind him of their family bond, was to buy for each of them a pendant.
The soppiness of this act still ashames him but this feeling always fades out when he sees Rishid discreetly touching his pendant, a smile on his face.

As for recs, Maybe you've already read The Nomads? :)
