Incompatible? or What I've Learned Yesterday

After a very embarrassing incident, which involved me tripping and falling while out on my run (thankfully, it was in a very dark alley and noone actually saw me taking a tumble, although someone had to hear me swearing creatively in 3 different languages as I did it), I have finally concluded that my body was never made for the very active kind of ( Read more... )

да просто бежала вечером, да под ноги не смотрела... Ну вот и споткнулась хорошенько, да ободрала локоть и колено... А так все нормально. :) А как Рейст?

I don't know about not knowing how to fall properly christinerl August 24 2006, 03:01:50 UTC
But trust me compared to the spills some of my running buddies have taken, you came out alright. I had a fall during my long run and was out for 2 weeks thanks to a lovely sprain. One of my friends got a hairline fracture taking a spill.

Don't you just love marathon training??

holy crap! I guess you have a point there. I didn't fall as badly as you or your friend even when I was going full speed on a road bike (back in April when the wheel buckled on a sharp leaning turn, and I skid on the concrete, smoothing out my knee and my elbow in the process). Hope both of you are all right.

You know, marathon training wouldn't be all that bad if not for grueling humidity. Are you still running?

I agree about the humidity part, its seriously kicked my ass the last few weeks.

I'm actually doing marathon training too. But with the job search and thesis I may be dropping the Chicago marathon as I'm worried about the risk of injury from not training enough. Its looking like I'll be doing at least a half this year though.

Sometimes I wish that you updated this blog... Then again, I would end up wasting a lot of time checking and reading the updates every day. :-)
