Soundtrack

E. posted this ages ago, and I'm sure you've forgotten it by now, but I was bored and wanted to listen to music. The actual rules of the meme say to put your ipod on shuffle and fill in the blanks from there, but trying to find a song that matches makes it more fun.

1. Opening credits: Barenaked Ladies' "It's All Been Done" Same old life after another.

2. Waking up: Lightning Seeds' "Pure" Just because it's a nice song to start the day off with. Chipper.

3. Average Day: Blind Melon's "No Rain" Because I'm just that boring.

4. First Date: Tom Lehrer's "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" Well, it strikes me as a good first date. But that could just be the sadist in me talking.

5. Falling in Love: Billy Joel's "You May Be Right" Really, did anyone expect something mushy here? With me? Queen of bitter, snarking, and apathy?

6. Love Scene: Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" Well, I think it's romantic. Kinda sad, but, hey, cynical and depressing, here, not really finding happy stuff romantic.

7. Fight Scene: Trapt's "Stand Up" Fun song. Excellent one to belt out whilst driving with the windows down.

8. Breaking Up: The Killers' "For Reason's Unknown" I'd like to think most break ups don't consist of someone suddenly becoming a demon from hell. This song fits that bill.

9. Getting Back Together: Pat Benatar's "Love is a Battlefield" I have no reason for this. The whole 'never dated, thus no chance of a 'get back together' thing happening' thing, don'cha know? But it strikes me as a good 'this didn't work the first time, they think we're morons for trying it again, but what the hell' song.

10. Secret Love: Vertical Horizon's "Everything You Want" Mostly because I don't get what 'secret love' is supposed to mean. Someone you're seeing on the side? Someone you just don't feel like taking home to the folks? Or you just sitting there pining? It's a mystery.

11. Life's Okay: Garbage's "Only Happy When It Rains" Because really, if I'm too happy, I get paranoid about something going wrong, thus completely bringing me down, so I like to have a little misery to keep me spazzing that something has to be wrong.

12. Mental Breakdown: The Eagles' "Hotel California" E. once asked me if this song was about drugs or sex. The only answer to that is "Yes."

13. Driving: Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" Oh please, like you don't crank the volume up to sing along too

14. Learning a Lesson: Multiple ways to take that one. Devotchka's "How It Ends" History repeats itself. Maybe you should learn from it.

15. Deep Thought: John Lennon's "Imagine" The people the 60's made popular are so weird.

16. Flashback: Dude, wtf? Flashback music. Flashback to what? Coz, y'know, there's different types of flashbacks. Happy, sad, angry, lonely, whatever the fuck you're feeling at the time. So this is crap. I'm boycotting. Or whatever word is proper for the skippage of stoopid stuff. (Oooh, alliteration!)

17. Partying: Katy Perry's "Hot n Cold" Although I despise the fact the songwriters were so lazy they had to leave two whole letters out of the title, it's still such a fun song to bop along to.

18. Happy Dance: Vince Guaraldi's "Linus and Lucy" I'm sure you get the joke.

19. Regretting: Hitomi Mieno's "Shell" It's the opening theme for Witch Hunter Robin, which of course has little to do with the actual series, and the opening itself even less so. But it's a nice tune, and the fact you haven't the foggiest idea what's she singing means you listen to the way the vocals interact with the music and it's rather beautiful. WHR has some of the awesomest music in anime.

20. Long Night Alone: Evanescence's "Imaginary" My CD for them is so worn out (hell if I can spell their name though). I'll have to burn another copy of Liz's again. Liz says this song reminds her of me. I'm not getting it, beyond the complete wtf of the lyrics.

21. Death Scene: Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever" Because Highlander rocks. *snerk* Suppose I took this a bit *too* literally.

22. Closing Credits: The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" It just sounds like closing credits music.
