The sand tiger shark (also known as the grey nurse shark and spotted ragged tooth shark) is the only shark known to come to the surface to gulp air, store it in its stomach, and use that to help maintain neutral buoyancy. All other sharks just use their oily liver and constant swimming to maintain their position in the water, but this shark uses that plus the stored air. Some evidence of this is in the shark's naturally slow swimming, which the air aids. ^_^
