On Saturday I used those "Making use of small spaces" tips and tricks and straight up cleared the space in the guest room closet, and, by gum!, put my sewing machine in there on a desk named Flarke. The large sewing table is now out in the dining room serving as a side board (Handy for Game Nights) and there is a mini "bookshelf" built of milk crates for some overflow graphic novels. I did all this mostly by myself while Jaffer was out doing his Library delivery to home bound seniors. Although, I did call for help with high up things and moving some heavy stuff.
So, Now there is room for the crib Dad built.
When Jaffer's brother Al is ready we'll give him the guest bed for Alex and get a new bed (plus trundle) for that room. It can take care of guests and be a "big boy bed" when Arthur is old enough.
Next project is to move all the "linens" into the built in cabinet in the dining room. That cabinet doesn't have a door (although there clearly was one at one time, there are signs of hinges past).
Then there is the frightening prospect of the basement. My current impulse is to just brick off all the parts of the basement I don't like (the leaky parts) and then line the floor with 2" thick rubber. But that is probably foolish, right?
