Uh, I'm bored. Bored bored bored. Boooored. B-O-R-E-D. *sigh* I'm not in the drawing mood. I'm not in the mood to warch films. Gwah.
I borrowed this absolutely brilliant book named "24,99" from library. It's been written by a French named Frederic Bergeman or something, can't remember, very terrifying (=French) name.. x)
The plot shortly: Octave is a succesful copywriter in Madone. He rules the world, as he says. Cause of him people want to buy things. He keeps customers as his slaves. And suddenly he wakes up. Suddenly he knows he doesn't want to do this anymore. He wants out. He wants to start to live. Yes, he has money, drugs and whores but he isn't satisfied.
The story is based on author's own life. He wrote "24,99" cause he wanted to be fired. In France they won't pay you this unemployement money (??) if you quit. And obviously so happened. The book is marvellous, Octave has so many interesting thoughts about The Third World War which is going on all the time between customers and advertisers. Advertisers are kickin' our ass. They decide what we want and when we want. We're stupid, we're mass. We're nothing without our credit cards. Octave thinks that Joseph Goebbels was a perfectly self-learned copy. "Ein Reich, Ein Volk, Ein Führer", for example. Octave loves to talk about nazis.
Really, I recommend this one from bottom of my heart. It's clever, for God sakes. It makes you think of capitalism and socialism. It loves you cause it knows you can think with your own brain. Lovely.
