Late reply is late! Why is it that I always forget to reply? *headdesks*

But, it's never too late to flail♥!

I don't know, his different clothing/make-up just caught my eye right away, as well as his kind of blank expressions. Of course it could be that, as the biased fangirl I am, I'm reading too much into it but taking to consideration that white is the color of grief in Japan, I think I have some ground here :D But, then again, I've been proved wrong before, so who knows, maybe there's an interview or something floating around that will pull carpet from under my feet :p

Oh, Tora, my beautiful Tora♥ I so didn't expect that, what a wonderful surprise :D I lolled just a bit at Hiroto and his hooker girl, he's trying to build an image here so hard. It's kinda cute, really. And agreed, I wish Shou would've shown a new side of him as well. He looks gorgeous in the PV as well but he isn't that interesting which is why I kind of hope they would've stressed the other guys' parts more than his.

Waah, now I'm super curious about the B-side PV!! It would be amazing if it was a coupling PV to Blue Flame, with a storyline that fits the one in BF but but but, somehow I have an inkling that's not going to be it :/ But, this is the first time I'm tempted to order both the PV versions of the single, just because this one is so pretteh, and I really hope the other one will be too. It's a bit disappointing if it's just another playing-in-front-of-a-green-screen PV for them.

The song is absolutely fabulous♥ Gemini, and now this, they're definitely going somewhere this time. They said themselves in an interview that Vandalize wasn't to their own liking either, so perhaps that gave them the push they needed to accomplish these :D

Haha, but I think that's quite spot on of you there, cause after your first comment I went back and rewatched it and I just realized about his white clothing as opposed to the others' black ones (fail me, yeah), so hey, you might not be too far from the truth there =P

Tora, man, here let me just thank you for providing preshus scenes for upcoming fanvidding. XP And, yeah, Hiroto's been trying to build up an image for a while, huh. It is kinda cute, like watching little puppy growing up. Soo... in this PV, in light to what happened to Saga, while Shou the big bro's lounging in the bedroom being emo, Nao the best friend's obviously crying in sadness, and Tora the put upon partner taking cue from romantic flicks standing around in the rain, Hiroto deals with his sadness by...uhh, getting round the block? ^^; Wow, Pon, wow.

Someone said that the B-side PV might have clearer storytelling, I see that being done a lot in K-POP with PVs for teaser intro and the connected single, it builds fans expectation and easily eases them off into the single, but yeah I don't remember seeing it being done a lot in jrock (or perhaps my jrock knowledge's just that rusty). Maybe it's best to wait and ask around other fans first in comms? And if Gemini album's their new base of their future music then count me in alright \o/

YEY that would be perfect! :DDv I'm torn now about which version I should buy. I know the single's coming out in a few weeks but I kind of would like to buy the B-version and have a surprise (negative or positive, heh) waiting for me in the post office. It's just not the same to watch the stuff from Youtube. *decisions, decisions*

But, that sounds like an excellent marketing strategy and I wish the boys have adopted it! :D I myself don't know any Jrock bands either who would've made PVs that way but then again, I haven't been checking many bands outside my Kagrra-Alice-MUCC-Kiyoharu -circle lately.

I hadn't even thought about fanvids yet! >D I love really cheesy, well edited FVs. Oh boys, the possibilities now!

Haha, I get it, it's like setting up a treat for yourself, cause no matter what the outcome is, which version of the PV that you end up getting, in the end you're still going home with a present of your own.

Your circle of j-rock bands to check is definitely wider than me, cause I only have Alice Nine and Dir En Grey in mine.^^ I still hear some news about others, like Kagrra, MUCC, or Kiyoharu but it's through friends.

IKR XP These scenes provide us with wider range of possibilities for storyline. Oh, btw, on latest Alice Nine Channel (May 21) Tora mentioned that he got involved a lot with the visual aspects of the PV, how he gave lots of inputs on how the other members' scenes should be done and whatnot, and it got me curious about how far he played his hand in Saga's scenes, but sadly he didn't mentioned any of it. Still, a fun trivia for future reference. :D

This is OT, sorry, but um, I want to confirm something and since you work in a magazine I thought perhaps I could ask you this. As I understand it if someone did an interview with media, before the final form of the interview could be printed then the mags/papers need to confirm their final draft of that interview with the source first, is that correct...? Or am I mistaken here, and that they could just go on printing their stuff without getting an OK back from the source...? I get the feeling the correct practice is the first one to prevent possibility of libel lawsuit, etc, but I remember noticing that the second situation happens quite often here and there. So, in publication field, which one is the standard practice here, if I may ask...? Err, sorry if I throw this out of nowhere at you, Rii ^^;;

No no, it's totally fine :D I'm glad if my amateurish career at the mag can help you out!

There's no certain procedure. It's more like an agreement between the interviewee and the interviewer; any interviewee is entitled to ask for a check-up before the interview goes to printing and in those cases, it's good manners from the magazine to offer one. I've seen cases where the magazine hasn't provided a version for a check up. However, unless you're a big celeb and you perhaps have a written-down agreement that the magazine has to provide a version for corrections before the interview gets printed (sometimes it's the condition for the interview), legal actions don't necessary follow. People get angry and probably won't want anything to do with the said magazine anymore but unless it's really nasty stuff, they don't sue the magazine.

For example, although I usually write dorama articles and CD reviews, I've done a few interviews. One was with a famous cosplayer girl who was very easygoing and cool about everything, she even allowed me to use any pictures I liked from her website. When I'm doing concert live coverage, I usually get the instructions that I need to confirm the pictures with the management before printing. Although, I suspect that Japanese bands are a bit tighter about the rules when they're in Japan; with foreign media the media should translate everything and that would be bothersome for all participants. Also, I think foreign media isn't that big of a "threat" to their reputation so they don't really care about the interview itself, esp since there's often someone in the interview situation controlling the questions and the pace of the interview, so...

Hopefully any of this was helpful! If you need clarifications or anything, feel free to ask, I don't mind talking about this :)

Ugh, I'm so sorry for the late reply when I'm the one who's asking for help. Yes, this is very helpful thank you so much for the insights! :)

Ah, I kind of got the feeling that this is the case, but I'm not really familiar with how exactly this usually goes down, so all that scenarios you've mentioned really shed some light into it for me. It's interesting that foreign media is considered as not that big of a threat by Japanese musicians, but it's understandable cause Japanese market is their home ground as well as primary fanbase, and it's already a massive market in itself, so they'll definitely consider of handling it with more care than their international counterparts. Not the best marketing strategy considering most of them aiming to go international, but I guess it works for them so far.

Ahh, I forgot about the usual presence of manager or label people to control the interview's questions and its pace, but you reminded me of it, too.

Yes, all of these are really helpful, thanks again. XD I'm tinkering with a fic bunny (though I don't know if it'll finally get finished or not) that's slightly brushes that area I've asked you about. I'm not familiar with the field and there's always Google, but I don't want to sound like such a know-it-all, so yeah, I end up troubling you. Should have mentioned it's not an urgent matter so you don't have to answer it so quickly, so thanks and sorry for that, too.^^;
