I have been feeling... somehow powered up for the last couple of days, which probably shows here in LJ as continuous flooding XD
I don't know why but I've just been loving my music even more than I usually do. Maru's raspy vocals, Tora's kick-ass awesome guitaring, Naoran's silly antics yet crazy talent, YamaP's puppy eyes and hipthrusts, LVER's amazing drum solos, Tatsurou singing the HELL out of Karasu, all that and a lot more... ♥ My cousin died recently (he was only 24 years old), J is 200km away, money has been bugging me by not existing... There has been a lot of things that have been making me down recently, so I guess I've been even more escapist than normally by just listening to music for hours and hours and hours... Music is amazingly comforting and it gives me strenght and makes me do things I really wouldn't like to do but I have to and kajshajsajsa. Music is frigging everything, and I dare to say that even if it sounds stupidly corny. Now the sun's up and shining and I love everything and everybody, and that feeling is pretty nice♥
ANYWAY.
So, I've been watching a lot PVs lately as well, and here's my ULTIMATE top 5(+1) of jrock/jpop pvs! :D Enjoy~
05: NEWS -Weeeek

-->Aaaaaah NEWS♥ This song alone makes me stupidly excited about life, cheerful and genki, and when the PV added... My heart just explodes again and again and I can't stop smiling! The boys look absolutely fabulous and the DORKYNESS is just way beyond my imagination♥ I love Koya camwhoring and that comic segment and EVERYTHING. If this doesn't cheer you up, then you're made of stone *nods*
04: MUCC- Libra
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixS2c1Ac2n0 -->Embedding was disabled on all the Libra's I found in YouTube. Well, anyway, let's not let it bother us!~♥
Libra is a song that I love to quote the most. You have to stand up, you have to fight; there's always a little light you can grasp on. The symbolism in the PV is mindblowing, and Tatsurou as Faith swept me off my feet when I first saw this video, and still whenever I watch this, I feel a tinge of... determinance in my heart, especially around 2:30 when the tempo gets more fervent before the climax.
03: Alice Nine -Shunkashuuto

-->TIME TO SPAZZZZZZ!♥♥
Shunkashuuto is something quite special, since for soooo looong only a selected few had seen it in some FC only event. For three years teaser clips haunted the minds of us poor fans; school uniforms! This _has to_ be amazing! WHY CAN'T WE SEE IT??
And then, suddenly, the guys released two PV collections AND THERE IT WAS, complete and in high quality. The whole fandom went insane, me included :D The pv is even better than I had dared to dream. There's a loose story, written by Tora, and it captures perfectly the emotions of the young. The vid is full of hope and friendship and a lot of beautiful things with which you can overcome pretty much anything. Sometimes you're scared but it's okay; it's only human, and eventually you'll rise again, stronger than ever.
The pv is full of fanservice epic moments: Tora getting smacked on the head by his teacher, Tora and Saga starting a fist fight, the band getting thrown out of class, Saga's awesome blond platinum hair blinding us all.... AAAAAAAH!!!!! It's like, WHAT NOT TO LOVE? The guys are so full of energy, so young and spontaneous and carefree and PERFECT, and I'm just hoping that one day they will release a new pv with a story. This and NUMBER SIX. sent the guys to stardom for good; either one of them would be the first thing any fan would mention if asked what's the most epic thing about Alice Nine.
02: bis- Start

-->I loved Start pv from the moment I saw it for the first time but after the band disbanded, I started to look it through new eyes, and these days, the pv is sort of a bittersweet watch for me. It has a plot, which is something I always appreciate; the guys have stolen money and the cops come knocking the door of their hideaway. A furious and totally HILARIOUS chase begins, as the cops try to capture the guys :'DDDD Maru spitting beer on the face of the detective; the cameos of Kisaki and that one Mysterious Man; Seika flirting with a girl, then getting smacked by Shunshuke; the guys stealing a frigging police car; just to mention a few of the epic, EPIC, moments of this video.
It's sad that Maru wasn't feeling well and the band had to quit activities. I've tried looking for another equally optimistic and fun pop rock punk band but I haven't found anything to fill the hole bis left behind :'(
01: Kagrra, -Utakata // 01: Alice Nine -SLEEPWALKER

Choosing between SLEEPWALKER and Utakata would've been impossible, thus they scored the shared first place.
Both of the pvs are exactly what I love about Japanese rock scene -and it's the visual. Utakata was the pv that converted me into a Kagrra, fan some years ago. As always, there's enough symbols in the pv to write an entire book about them -but it's not abnormal, it's Kagrra, we're talking about after all :) The lights, the colors, the soft-paced rhytmn seasoned with Shin's skillfull koto... Nao with his brush... This pv takes me into a completely different world, and it's fantastic. Very rare bands are able to send this strong feelings via music. The essence of Kagrra, is so vividly present that it really takes my breath away, no matter how many times I've watched and enjoyed this video.
SLEEPWALKER, then again, returned my faith in the band. I rambled about this quite a lot back in the day this was released but shortly, the band was for a year or two completely lost. They released nice songs but most of them were somehow... average, dull, lacking the magic of Shunkashuuto. SLEEPWALKER proved they're still here, as strong as ever. It was so close I didn't start crying when the first beats of the song hit me. The composition is huge; it's almost as if it doesn't fit into my head.
The visual execution is flawless, so flawless that only Utakata can compete with this. Nao and the light bulbs, Tora's hair softly fluttering in the wind, Saga's mildly melancholic eyes when he finally reveals them, Shou from the very beginning till the end... Every second is so beautifully put together that a person like me, who has always had an urge to express myself somehow artistically, starts crying in wonderment.
The pv made my love for the band even stronger, and I'm excitedly waiting to see what they're going to come up with next. There has been amazing B-sides (-mugen- electric eden being one), so I hope that they've been testing their more bold stuff kind of "secretly" in the form of B-sides, and that their next single release will be something to turn a new page in the history of Alice Nine♥
Lol, sorry for rambling so much; it's really hard to stop when you've gotten started :')
