Fan Art Meme,
go and see if you'd like to request fan art of any kind. (Well, not of any kind; there're some specific fandoms and styles listed I don't draw, not even if you promise me Sagacchi wearing a skirt.)
But..
I didn't say anything about the first episode of Yoiko no Mikata x)
I'm downloading the second episode now without seeing the first (for Sho Sakurai I watch pretty much anything), since there're no seeders for the first ep. Upload the ep for me or share d/loading links and you OWN me.
I dropped by at jrock_icons a few minutes ago. I went through a few pages, just glancing around in search of new Tora icons (I'm still wanting to get rid of the one I'm currently using) and once again, I couldn't help but notice how different my stuff is from everybody else's. I felt the graphics I make are so heavy and clumsy when compared to the smooth and shiny stuff other iconers share on daily basis. It really didn't depress me or anything, it just gave me this funny feeling I can't quite explain. Then I went to see the new comments in BCL. 16 is a great number of comments for me, esp now when the new icons have been uploaded only a few days (usually some more appear even months after the original sharing date). I appreciate all the comments I get, since even my icons get snatched without commenting (I don't really mind -I'm a comment whore, not a comment nazi).
So, I see all these sweet and encouraging replies and I go elsewhere chest swollen with pride and joy.. and then I run into someone receiving around 50 comments or so.
And then I go see my Profile and the statistics tell me I have over 70 friends keeping an eye on the journal.
That just makes me wonder.
1)70 is a big number, ne? So apparently I do something right. I guess my journal is a little more popular than an average icon journal; I'd like to know what people have been thinking when adding me. But, then again, LJ has made adding journals so easy that people do that quite.. well, not recklessly, but without thinking much.
2)then, this is purely weird, but this occured to me too x) We all know the iconers who update often and these "big household names" in iconing, such as
hikaru_sama,
tokidokiko and
ka_dono. In the scale of 4 to 10, what my "fame rate" would be? (Told ya, my head's squirming with bizarre things *lol*)
3)how many people have found my journal via others' LJ pics? How many people are using my icons currently? Why they use them? When I post a batch I'm usually so proud and happy with it, then, when I come back after a few weeks or so to view them, I start pouting, since they don't look good at all anymore (well, there's an exception to every rule, but in general it goes like that).
4)how many flisters are there for ART? Since my art is what for I originally set the other journal up, so the comments and the viewers I get through the art pieces are the most meaningful to me, esp now when I don't really have anyone in RL to tell me sincerelly how they feel when seeing my bleeding Urus and watercolor-splashed Toras.
5)this is simply self-centric, but do I inspire anyone? I don't care that much about real fame and glory, but if I can be inspiring in the same way I look up to my own idols.. it's hard to explain. I just want to hand out what I've received, you know?
Gah. Wangst, this is.
As I've finished dorama series, I've been writing down some thoughts on them. After I've seen the two last eps of Yamada Taro, I probably share my commentaries (Kurosagi, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, Proposal Daisakusen and Yamada Taro Monogatari).
And.. oh, yeah :D
Like (a Finnish publishing house) has relesed an encyclopedia-type of book of jrock. It's simply called J-rock and it's written by Josephine Yun. Of course I purchased it, since reading anything abt Japanese rock in Finnish is still rare-ish, and now, an entire book of the subject.. sounds luring^__^ The illustrations have been complimented, so my hopes are high. Also, it will interesting to see which bands are featured (the book includes 40 bands/artists). The legends have surely claimed their place (Malice Mizer, Luna Sea, X Japan) and then there're probably the bands which have made most promo outside Japan (MUCC, D'espairsRay, Dir En Grey). I'd also guess Gazette, Ayabie and Meev are there out of the new generation.. of course I'd love to see Kagrra, in it, since their work is pretty unique and they deserve more fans and respect. But, when talking about my other fandoms.. bis? 100% no. They're still too indies. Naitomea? Uh, they've been around for quite some time, but to be selected into the respectful 40.. doubt. AnCafé? Yeah, another sad no.
I'll get my book on Monday/Tuesday. It wasn't too expensive, so even if it's crap, I believe I'll enjoy just the pics for the money spent.
Reminding: See my previous post if you're interested in the idea of exchanging Christmas presents this year^^
