Just posting a phone picture of the theater where we hang out...this is the bar/restaurant in the lobby. Eight theaters inside all with stadium seating...and tables. Yesterday we saw Pirates. We got there extra early in an attempt to make up for being so late the day before. Its gotten to the place where you can say it was a typical Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Captain Jack Sparrow, lots of sword fights and things blowing up, laughs, supernatural occurrences and romance. No Will and Elizabeth....I guess their story is told but we were given an interesting side story of a missionary and a mermaid. We were halfway through the movie when it suddenly stopped and the theater went dark. Power had gone out. The attendant came it to inform us and some guy wanted to know if they got free beer as a sort of recompense. They didn't but she did give free refills on soft drinks. Movie came back on and it finished...it was pretty good I suppose. We've caught up but Transformers and Harry Potter are right around the corner. We are making plans to go to the HP midnight showing...and Dave and Jennie are going to dress up. I'm going to do what I always do at these parties...wear regular clothes and slap on a nametag that says "Muggle'. ;)
Today we went to the Kiwanis meeting...and then went to the Court of Honor for Jamie Sullivan. She was awarded the Venturing Silver Medal which is the highest award you can get in Venturing...it is the equivalent of Eagle. It was outside and very nice. I 'think' she might be the first girl to get one in our Council.
