Got up to the Lodge late last night. I was up posting here and to facebook when the phone rang. The phone rings several  places in the camp. In the kitchen, at the Ranger's house, in Buffalo Lodge and at our place. Usually  if you just let it ring someone will pick it up. Well it rang and I was hesitant to pick it up but I did. It was Greg. We had several groups on outpost away from the camp....some way up on the Pinnacle trail. There was some lightning and somewhere someone mentioned the term 'hardcover' which means the weather is severe enough that we bring people back from outpost and put everyone into a building to wait out the storm. Greg was stuck in Bowman with some Scouts and wanted 'further instructions'. I told Dave and he was MAD! Hardcover is a call that he makes....seems the medic panicked and took matters into his own hands. We  got in the car and drove down there and found out that some of the closer outpost teams had been called back and the group  up on  Pinnacle were told to go to the shelter that was up there.  Things had gotten out of hand and it only turned out to be 'heat' lightning. There was no storm. We all went to bed....tired. This morning it was referred to as a 'hardcover drill'.

Today there was a lot of coming and going....scouts  finishing up their requirements and staff working to make sure they got their merit badges. Then this afternoon we got a REAL storm. The rain was great....but we had to have our campfire inside a hot sweltering building...I stayed outside most of the time. The storm was so bad Dave gave the units the option of leaving early and about five of them did.

This is our Friday night off....we came home and I finally get a chance to sleep in my brand new bed!  Day off tomorrow!!!
