One of the bad things about Dave's job is that he is Camp Director in addition to being a District Executive...that means he has to do his regular job in addition to camp. He gets swamped and we all take turns helping him out. Today was my turn to do some data entry for merit badge records  from camp.(very important for rank advancement and extremely important if the Scout wants to make it to Eagle Scout). We transfer handwritten information from the rosters to the computer and some of the handwriting is atrocious! Could barely read it. I was happy to hear that my records were very neat and easy to read...you are welcome.

However there MUST be an easier way to do this.  I'm thinking of taking one of those one hour classes on Microsoft Excel and seeing if I can't work something out.

My job as CIT advisor worked out so well that they have asked me to come back and they will pay me this time around plus they want me to be the administrative assistant. That means I would be paid to do what I did last summer. Stay in Buffalo Lodge, greet visitors, answer questions but with the additional responsibility of being 'key worthy' meaning I would have keys to all the admin offices, keeping up with clerical work including the above mentioned records.....and just generally take care of business when the 'big 3' are out...

They 'key 3' are out a lot. Dave has activities that he does with the Scoutmasters and adult leaders (networking) The Program director is always out making sure the areas are running well and that the campers are happy and the Business Manager goes out to town every other day to take care of food, candy and ice cream orders and whatever. It would be a full time job..only problem would be that it would be mostly inside and I wouldn't have a lot of contact with the campers.  I do have the option of turning the desk over to a CIT (after he/she has been properly trained in the nuances of reception work).

However I like the idea and am looking forward to it.
