Sam rested her forehead against the back of the elevator wall and let out a resigned sigh. A hand gripped her shoulder and a voice asked, ”Are you sure you want to do this?”
She turned her head just enough to see Daniel’s face. “Wipe the grin off. I told her I’d help and I keep my word, Daniel.”
The blonde turned around to lean against the wall as they traveled to the motor pool. Daniel didn’t say anything else as the car came to a stop and the doors opened. Just as they were about to exit the sound of squealing tires on pavement was heard and a vehicle sped past the freight elevator.
The pair jumped back into the open car and Daniel stuck his head out again, peering after the retreating jeep. He turned and gave Sam a wry look then pushed her out of the elevator. She yelled, "Hey!" and stumbled out then he quickly hit the door close button. She turned around as the doors were sliding shut shook a fist at him and growled, “Traitor.”
“I taught Teal’c,” he remarked and gave her a grin along with a jaunty wave as the doors closed.
Sam stared at the closed doors and then turned quickly as she heard the vehicle approach again. Plastering herself against the door as the small Jeep came to a screeching halt a few feet from the freight elevator she shook her head at the driver's wide eyed look and huge smile. “I thought we agreed you’d wait on me before you started that thing,” she remarked.
Vala reached a hand forward and patted the dashboard of the vehicle. “I wanted to get the feel for it before we began,” she said innocently.
The blonde shook her head but didn’t say anything as she walked around to the passenger side and climbed into the vehicle. Reaching for and snapping her seatbelt on she eyed the added extras now adorning the jeep’s dash. “Where in the world did you find those?” she asked.
The dark-haired woman used a finger to set the little figure in motion. “Ebay, I thought they were cute,” she remarked as the little dog’s head bobbled.
Sam sighed. “One is usually enough, Vala,” she commented unable to take her eyes off the little hula dancer’s swaying skirt.
Vala grinned and replied, “But they were on sale.”
“Just drive, Vala….start off slow please,” the blonde added.
With a small shrug of her shoulders Vala eased the jeep away from the elevator and out into the open lanes of the motor pool.
Sam clutched the side of the door frame, this was going to be one driving lesson she surely would never forget.
