With a heavy sigh Sam gave the body next to hers a nudge, causing Vala to startle awake. The dark haired woman stretched her arms over her head and yawned widely as she sat up straight, "Are they finished?"

"Almost," replied Sam as she tried to suppress a yawn of her own.

Both women watched as Daniel finished his talk with the dignitaries, wrapping up another round of negotiations. Sam knew that this was an important part of her job but sometimes she just wished Daniel could do these things on his own. She saw her friend shake the hands of the gathered men and then he waved to them that it was time to leave.

"Finally," groaned Vala as she stood up from the bench next to the wall they had been sitting on for the past few hours. She held a hand out to Sam and the blonde woman grasped it, letting Vala pull her up.

Not even a few inches up from the bench Sam felt something snag the seat of her pants and she felt the material tear. Letting go of Vala's hand she sat back down quickly then felt behind her.

"Crap," she muttered.

"What's wrong?" asked Vala with a confused look on her face.

"I snagged my pants on something and now they're ripped," Sam grumbled.

"No big deal...you have more pants," Vala stated.

"No, you don't understand...I forgot to do laundry," Sam told her with a raise of her eyebrows.

"Okay then...so you have dirty pants at home," the dark haired woman said with a tilt of her head.

"NO...I FORGOT TO DO LAUNDRY," Sam emphasized as she repeated herself and motioned towards her lower body then gave the woman an exasperated look.

Vala thought for a moment and then smiled widely, "Sam, are you trying to tell me you aren't wearing anything under your pants?"

Resting her head in her hands Sam groaned, "Yes."

"No problem...I'll just walk really close behind you as we leave," Vala remarked with a grin.

With a shake of her head Sam replied, "Fine...but you stick to me like glue, understand. I'm not sure what the customs are here and I don't want to offend them." She then stood up and moved away from the bench, letting Vala slip in behind her as she walked towards the exit.

Vala couldn't help but glance down and with a soft laugh remarked, "Nice work."

Sam stopped her forward momentum causing Vala to bump into her, "I didn't mean to rip them."

"Oh, I wasn't referring to the rip in your pants," Vala said, her lips forming a silent whistle as she fanned herself.

Sam glanced over her shoulder and saw the motion, “For crying out loud...just walk with me and let's get this over with so we can get back home," she muttered.

Daniel looked towards the two women, seeing Vala almost plastered to Sam's back he gave them a confused look and as they neared him asked, "Is there some reason you have a monkey on your back?"

Vala glared at him and began to say something but Sam shoved an elbow back catching her in the stomach, "Yes, but I'd rather not say. Let's just say goodbye and head out, "she told him.

Pushing his glasses up Daniel cleared his throat and remarked, "Okay then; you two have to shake hands with all of them as you leave the building.”

"How are we going to handle this?" Sam asked looking over her shoulder.

"Just keep moving," Vala replied.

Daniel watched as the two women moved as one towards the dignitaries, when Sam reached a hand out to shake one of the men's hands just as soon as she was finished Vala stuck her arm out from behind Sam's body, threading it past her side and did the same thing.

Trying not to laugh out loud, he busied himself cleaning his glasses as the two women shuffled their way out of the building. After he bid farewell to the men again and exited the archeologist found Sam stripping her vest off then her long sleeved BDU shirt, leaving her in the black tee worn under it. As she wrapped the outer shirt around her waist and gave Vala a pat on the shoulder, he heard her remark, "Thanks for the assist."

"Okay...will you tell me what that was all about please," he said walking up to them.

"Sam had a wardrobe malfunction," Vala said with a grin.

Daniel raised an eyebrow towards his friend, "Sam?"

"Not one more word about anything Daniel or I tell Vala about your little return from ascension the second time around," Sam replied with a serious look on her face.

Holding both hands up in the air he answered, "Fine...no more questions."

The trio began walking towards the Stargate and as Daniel walked ahead to the DHD Vala leaned into Sam, "You're going to tell me about that anyway right?"

"Shhh..." Sam said but she gave the dark haired woman a wink and grinned.

With a satisfied smirk Vala nudged the blonde and nodded as the Gate roared to life. What Daniel didn't know she knew was always good to have handy if needed.
