rysler have going...just going to post them here because I don't know if I can write one for every episode(that and my beta is asleep...lol)....just remember this is Season 10...in my little world you know what that means...there be Janet!...heh..and OT3...*EG*...Enjoy what the muses woke me up to write!
Sam stared at the man on the ground before her; with a shake of her head she gave Teal’c a look and motioned for him to watch the former System Lord. The Jaffa inclined his head towards her and pulled Ba’al from the ground, shoving him towards the obelisk, leaving Sam to mutter under her breath and shake her sore hand as she moved towards the cave opening. Rubbing her fingers over the bruised knuckles of her right hand the blonde colonel looked up as she neared the opening to find Vala watching her movements.
“Did that make you feel better?” the dark-haired woman asked.
With a tilt of her head Sam grinned, “Actually yes…it did but my hand would disagree,” she replied kneeling down to sort through her backpack, “he finally pushed the right button and I just couldn’t resist wiping the smug look off his face with my fist.”
When she stood back up with the med kit Vala made a tsking noise, “Give me that and sit down, the good doctor would never forgive me if you came home without full use of all your facilities,” she told Sam with a small smile.
With a sigh the blonde did as told and sat down leaning back against the wall of the cave as Vala took the med kit then fussed over her bruised hand. Sam knew the hand was fine but she let the other woman continue, knowing her dark- haired lover needed the distraction to take her mind off of Daniel’s predicament.
“How is he doing?” asked Sam as Vala cleaned the blood from her hand.
Vala hesitated for a second and then replied, “He claims he’s fine…that he can handle the information Merlin put in his head.”
Sam watched as her lover wrapped a bandage around the hand and with her free hand she reached out, pulling up Vala’s chin to find the woman fighting back tears, “Hey…don’t cry I’m sure he’ll be okay. Jack had it happen to him twice and he made it through just fine.”
“But the Asgard helped him, we don’t have any little grey aliens around here to help Daniel if he starts spouting Ancient,” Vala said dropping Sam’s hand and waving hers’ around, “we may not make it home in time or the Ori may find us or…”
Leaning forward Sam tugged on one of Vala’s upraised arms until she settled down and let the blonde pull her close in a hug, “Shhh…it will be alright, you’ll see. We’ve been in worse predicaments than this and managed to make it home okay…just another little hurdle for SG-1 to get over,” Sam said softly as she placed a kiss on Vala’s head; “You have to become used to watching your friends go through things like this…it’s what makes us closer as a team sometimes.”
“Is this why Janet doesn’t go on off world missions?” Vala asked her voice muffled against Sam’s chest; “So she doesn’t have to go through this…watching friends suffer?”
“No…she knows how to turn that part of her brain off when she has too but the heart is a little tougher and she does go on missions…I just tend to steer her towards the tamer ones…although anything can happen,” Sam replied in a quiet voice.
Vala sat up and gave her an incredulous look, “You steer her towards tame missions? Somehow I don’t think that is an easy task,” she remarked, a small grin tugging at her lips.
Sam’s face grew serious as she replied, “I almost lost her once and it was a rough recovery. I told her I never wanted to have that happen again…not if it could be prevented by carefully choosing missions and she agrees. As it is I have to be extra careful…there’s no way I plan to break my promise to her about coming home.”
“But what if something happened and you had no control over it?” Vala asked.
With a shrug of her shoulders Sam replied, “Well then I guess I’d let the ones who brought me home face the wrath of one small doctor,” then with a smile and a wink she added, “of course then that would just be too cruel, so I guess we’ll just have to watch each other’s butts very closely.”
Vala laughed at the remark and sitting up a little straighter cocked her head to the side, “Well I think I can do that with no problem.”
Sam just winked again and the two collapsed into a fit of giggles, after they trailed off Vala said, “Thank you.”
“For what?” asked Sam as she stood.
“For helping take my mind off of Daniel for a few minutes…as much as I love both you and Janet he was my first friend, he’ll always hold a special place in my heart, “ Vala replied.
Holding out a hand to the still seated woman Sam pulled her up from the ground, “We know that silly…it’s one of the things that makes us love you so much. Now go keep an eye on Daniel before Cam gets bored and let me get back to figuring out that obelisk…with Ba’al’s help maybe we can get it to send us home.” Sam told her.
“Try not to hit him again Sam,” Vala told her.
“Believe me…if it comes to that again I’m letting Teal’c have a crack at him, maybe a broken nose would make him work with us quicker than a busted one,” Sam remarked with a grin as she turned to leave the cave entrance.
Vala watched her blonde lover walk away, a little strut in her step and with a small smile turned to relieve Cam from watching Daniel as he worked to build Merlin’s weapon. Her little talk with Sam making her feel better even though she still worried about her friend; she now realized it was something she would have to become used too since she chose to remain with SG-1...it was a part of being on the team.
