The main subject of this books is Thomas Harvey, former pathologist who removed Einstein’s brain after his death (without any kind of permission). He has been hauling the remains of the brain all over USA, trying to get respect for dubious reasons.
There is particularly no real reason to drive through USA (all this happened before 9/11). Well, aside from sightseeing to get something longer to write about. And emulate road movies, of course. And the all-masculine "drive to find himself".
Paterniti does describe couple of other people peripherally linked to Einstein. Japanese Einstein fan. Some of Einstein's relatives. Just to fill the pages, I assume.
