Today we birdgged a mansion in West Palm beach where Laura Bush was giving a speech at a fundraiser for Clay Shaw, the Republican candidate for house in Florida. We dropped off 17 of us GOTers and Scott and left them with their global warming signs because we drive big shady marron vans. I didn't get out because I didn't feel right with all the police around and being at someone's house is private property, not that I give a shit, it just didn't feel right. The police made them leave 5 minutes later and we picked up our birddoggers and went to a small lane on the side of the road right at the Atlantic ocean and they piled out and held up signs. I jumped out and took pictures. Some people honked, some people honked while driving SUV's. A guy made the hang ten sign. I've made some really good contacts this week with people who are involved in things from DJ'ing to being enviornmental studies majors and some of the other variations in between. Being on the radio earlier this week was pretty awsome. We went on the FAU campus radio, on the japanese punk rock show, with a DJ who had never interviewed anyone, and the questions Me and Whitney answered were abotu Greenpeace and global warming, and our work on project hot seat on FAU. But the question I answered on air was, what is Greenpeace. It's awesome and kinda funny to think that 6 months ago I didn't really know what Greenpeace was about and now I have the oppurtunity to educate others and speak on behalf of all that is awsome about being with Greenpeace, the worlds largest non-profit organization that kicks ass by being the one to stand up for what is wrong that is going on in the world, and being the unpopular kid at times. But being the unpopular kid has its benefits. It makes us more attractive. And it doesn't matter if we're popular becuase we are literaly on the side of the world itself. The issue of global warming is of such a magnitude that it crosses all other interests. Anyway, today went pretty well, we also passed out buttons and talked to lots of people. People in the cafeteria were talking about us, mostly about how fast we've spread. I'm getting a little tired of pb&j, but my budget for this whole 2 and a half week trip is still $9.00, and I have $4.30 left. Also, I got re-admitted to WVU. Great news. More on this campaign later. Time for ice cream and barefeet and martini's down the hall. pitter patter of tired feet dodging red ants. good night sunshine state.
