Update of my scattered thoughts
I've just had an interesting weekend - who would've thought it would take so long to fit a new toilet! Heehee! Well, it is my house so it's not surprising that some of the fittings are weird.
About an hour ago I submitted my job application for the first full time on a contract job I've applied for in 6 years. I spent the weekend filling it out and I really have no idea whether I will even get an interview for it, but I certainly have my fingers crossed! I could tell it was the dark ages last time I filled in a job application coz now you have to put down email addresses for the referees you name as well as a phone number!
I'm feeling pretty disappointed at the moment, mainly due to the fact that when you are supportive to someone, then don't get the recognition, it doesn't feel good. Then again maybe being supportive should be it's own reward. *sigh* I have no sense of humour when it comes to my feelings!
Current Book: not my usual read, it's one I borrowed from my daughter called 'The Learning Curve' by Melissa Nathan.
Current music: I'm listening to all sorts of stuff at the moment, which I find exciting coz my musical range has been stagnating of late. I used to listen to masses of different bands when I was younger, now thanks to myspace, I'm once again hearing new stuff like Kik, Solutia, Nitzer Ebb, Das Ich, The Last Cry and of course Deviant UK.
Films: Saw Ghostrider at the cinema last week, which was ok, enjoyable but I won't be racing out to buy it. Sam Elliot's character was sadly wasted I think, I wanted to know more about him, and the baddies were cool but not particularly scary. My local tiny cinema has started 'Cult Tuesday' nights where they play older films. Last week was Batman and this week is The Matrix. Might pop down there, coz it's nice to see older films on the big screen again. (Well a screen bigger than the tv anyway, coz it's a really small cinema! Heh!)
