When I was traveling for the wheel motors business My night might not finish till 1 am his time 3 am. So I know how difficult it is when you just want to connect. In the future when I am visiting the Russian and European minesites we have agreed on a schedule of twice weekly mutually agreeable times. One day he'll lose a few hours sleep the other day I will, hence it's only one day per week but in reality it's two relaxed conversations per week excluding weekends.
There is no easy answer for this problem since there are 12 hours in between and it seems months to deal with it for you guys. But I am sure that you'll both be able to figure out a workable plan.
Of course I haven't packed my suitcase yet and I get to see Jim all the time now, won't be the case in the fall. I hope I can handle it as well as you two have.

Unfortunately that doesn't work on 12 hours difference. There's just no way to stay up a little late and find a mutually agreeable time. One of us is off work, and the other is at or going-to work, no matter what time is picked. So even if I got up realllly earlier, I'd still have a different mental space. Weekends can work as we can do late-morning/late-night and be relaxed. Outside that, I don't know what to do.
60 hours to go! 36 hours to take off!
