Spring Is Almost Here
Well Spring is almost here, but in Florida I guess it pretty much feels like Spring all Fall and Winter. We had a few short spells of cool weather this year but not as much cold as in some of the past years.
Here we are celebrating with Strawberry Festival, also the Renaissance Festival which lasts until April first.
The Strawberries are luscious this year and the Strawberry Festival is in full swing with strawberries, fun, food entertainment, exhibitions and carnivals. My favorite things there are the strawberry shortcakes, the concerts and the Carnival junk food.
For all you who have missed me the last few months, I have been sick quite often and had some problems with flu viruses that were difficult to get rid of. It started back in October and and affected me through the Holidays and into February/March, I think my immunity is finally coming back to normal and I hope to be feeling great again very soon. Just got to get back into my exercise program.
Not much else going on around here, just going to work and staying home alot. At work I hang around with my Dominican friend Velma (best friends) and we have a fun time there. It seems that the close friendship keeps us both going through difficult times on the job and in our private lives. Sometimes we all need a close friend like that to talk to. She is so wonderful and nice!
Here at home I spend a lot of time with my cat Barney as he loves me more than anyone else. As a matter of fact he is scared of everyone else and will not get close to anyone. He lays on my lap and sleeps while I am on the computer and watching tv. Then he follows me around while I am doing laundry, cooking food or cleaning. The only time he doesn't is when I turn the vacuum cleaner on, and when that happens he runs like a flash and hides somewhere. He loves ice cream and has to have some in a dish when I eat it. He also loves to share my chilli cheese hotdogs. He is my little buddy.
I haven't spent a lot of time reading the Live Journal entries of my friends because of being sick lately, but I have checked in on Malignafairy occaisonally. Seems I always miss it when she does have her cam on. I know she seldom posts Journal entries anymore and I usually miss those to. I do have a Myspace account and I try to get on it some because of my daughter Melanie who is in the Army. It is one way that I can show her support and keep in contact with her. I have many other friends on there and they usually write me quite often through emails.
