At Disney MGM Studios theme park you can see some of the best in Pyro technics in their stunt shows and their "Fastasmics" night time show. It is amaziing what they do on a day to day basis with fire, water and fireworks. I thought that some of you Live Journal visitors would maye like to see some of them.
In the Studio back lot tour you can see this, a semi tank trailer catch on fire and burn. It is in a gulch like scene maybe in Arizona or similar place.
After the burn is started it begins to 'rain', then a flash flood occurs with thousands of gallons of water that not only puts out the trailer fire, but makes it slide down into the gully.
This is a moat around a mountain in Fastasmics night time show. The water actually catches on fire and burns. Soon after the fire goes out a riverboat full of Disney charachters comes up the river.
Here is Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones stunt show, with a torch searching in the temple for treasure and artifacts. This is a live show with real actors doing stunts.
Another view of Indiana Jones after he lost his hat due to spikes coming up out of the floor. He is walking on a ledge in the Temple.
More fire and explosions in the second part of the Indiana Jones Stunt show. Notice the machine gun 'spray' across the front left foreground. The gunfire is what appears to have set off the fire explosions in the show.
This is the Airplane scene in the Indiana Jones Stunt show where Indiana's girl friend trys to steal the plane. Indiana saves her from the fire by getting her out of the cockpit in the nick of time. The propellers on this plane actually spin and the plane really taxis around the set.
This is the explosion scene where the fire reaches 'explosive material' behind the plane. From the camera angles of the crew 'filming' the scene it appears the plane explodes. We were at an angle where you could see that the plane never really burned. The special effects crew extinguishes the flames with fire extinguishers. This stunt show is HOT in more ways than one!
Finally, a photo of one of the special lighting tricks that Disney World uses to illuminate the Cinderella Castle. Notice the snow flakes that are on the Castle. This was taken at Christmas time. They change the colors constantly from white, to blue, to purple, red, etc during the fireworks night time show in the Magic Kingdom. A real Tinkerbell who is lit with hundreds of lights flies from the top of the Castle and across the Park (weather permitting and no wind conditions) in the nightly fireworks show.
