got books on story boarding.
yay.
Tex's birthday went... well it went.
Much as I enjoy talking with Tex and Eb...
their flakey an indecisive nature can sometimes get to me.
Standing at a crosswalk, looking about aimlessly while the green light is getting old.
looking about the video shop, wandering aimlessly, holding up dvds for me to see, grinning as I stare blankly at them
"what is it?" I ask.
"(insert anime title here)!!"
"Great but what's it about?"
"well... It's a (insert anime genre here)"
Elf loses patience and walk away, rather than smacking the irritating individual.
They go through the porn sections, commenting on this that or the other thing. I've seen one porno in my life.
I have no decent point of reference for quality, or anything. SO.. unless someone wants to clue in the Elf Da.
Leave the section that we aren't going to buy from.
Big smiles and chuckles, interspersed with nods and "Ooo's"... yea that tells me nothing.
Highlight: I bought Suicide Club on DVD and found a new Sonny Chiba collection I want. *squee!*
Sonny Chiba is:
Killing Machine
Bull Fighter
Bear Fighter
Karate for Life
Tex missed our stop on the bus, so we needed to walk up the hill several blocks.
And the cake, which everyone had been fussing about...
maybe I'm picky.
Or I've just been spoiled by a lifetime of world-class cakes by my mother.
The highlight of the evening was DVDs with Josh.
I finally saw Steam Boy. Though commentaries were not appreciated.
Finally saw an entire show by Stephen Lynch (The guy who did One Month Dead, and the Gerbil Song).
Though someone's off-tune "singing" was... interesting.
Walked home in the rain.
I like the rain, but poor Ebony... she had to deal with her hair this morning. Poor Ebony.
I enjoyed a shower at an unreasonable hour, and opted to sing De Nachtigal (spelling?) at what I hoped was not too high a volume.
Dad came to visit, and the super nice security guard escorted him up to my room, where he woke me up.
By tugging on my toe.
I found myself thinking "Gosh Dad can't you choose a normal way t-- Dad? WOA!" whoosh! out from under the scarf, and hugged him.
I have missed seeing my family, and getting hugs.
Dad talked to Kevin Sikorski on the phone, and I remembered several things..
1. Dad lives on his phone
2. I don't mind
3. I have missed family and friends.
anyway.. we're watching Ghost Busters II in the basement, so I'm gonna get back to that.
Luv and hugs to all!!
