yesterday you came
to whisk me away for the afternoon
i cannot help but ask
how i didn't notice much more soon

from far away
they always seemed dark as night
my favourite hue
they made me smile at their sight

but yesterday, of
all days i learned something new
not black at all
but a wonderful, subtle blue.

and somehow, you know...
i find in the least i don't mind
for after all
a sweeter smile i'll never find.

just thinking of you
makes me want to hug anybody
i'll just save it up
