Dear Body,

Sorry I suck so much at getting you moving on a regular, quick basis. You and I both have problems with faster work outs, and I should have known that this one combining ballet stretches with other moves was going to be faster and harder working than we usually take it. You and I both know that this one is probably faster-working for us than the yoga, but are we agreed that we go back to yoga after this and come back to the ballet-type later, once we're strong enough to sustain some of these moves? Sound good? Mkay. We still need to work some more on this later today, but that half-hour felt like two full hours and you're heavily complaining, so we'll rest a little first. Sorry to stress you out so badly. I just want you to feel good.

Love, Me

Two Weeks in Short

So, since Matt didn't have gaming again last week, I completely forgot what day it was, and spaced on doing my Saturday stuffs. Creature of routine, am I.

One of the exciting things that sticks in my mind is the conclusion of the Arthurian Knights one-shot. We faced off against Hearne the Hunter and the party as a whole won, though two of us (myself included) died in the attempt. The remaining three, however, in a truly amazing feat of tricky bargaining, secured the safe passage of mortals upon the road through the fae territory, the bond-free resurrection and safe passage of the two who fell to his blade, the relinquishment of the squire whose kidnapping had brought us to Hearne's castle in the first place, and the safe passage for themselves and the accompanying squires back to the mortal realms from whence we came. It was a glorious, if grim, fight and a marvelous quest. I think everyone had a good time, and it leaves an interesting possibility for a future one-shot with myself and the other fallen party member, should that be something interesting to them in the future.

Let me see... other interesting thing, gaming-wise... There was the Lightning Age: Tour of Damascus one shot. I didn't play in it, but it was quite interesting to watch/listen to. Matt adapted the new World of Darkness (White Wolf) rules to his Lightning Age setting (the same one in which he conducted the past two LARPS at Gameathon) which worked extremely well, even for those who had never played in a World of Darkness system before. Yay for more intuitive rules! Stolen identities, two thwarted assassination attempts, bribery, kidnapping, fights on staircases involving rocket boots and a cane rifle... Very exciting. In the end, they accomplished their primary goals of getting the Caliphate to recognize a new nation and introducing socialism on a small scale to a monarchical society. And none of the party members died!

Matt was more or less absent for a few days, so I had Thomas stay with me - I'm closer to his workplace, and it's nice to have someone other than the feline about the house with me. We had a few incredibly geeky conversations about how certain video game characters would map onto Dr. Who and Firefly characters... I wound up watching all of Firefly and half of Serenity on his laptop, since my TV's really too dark for those shows, unfortunately. And there was some playing of Persona 3 and 4 between writing my own and editing other people's short stories. There was also a paper of someone else's that I edited.

... Just a note, for those of you asking other people to read your papers, if you're translating from another language into English, before you give it to us, read it aloud and fix your syntax. If you know that you aren't going to need/want that three-page summary of the book, cut it down before hand. That biography? If you're not doing a biographical analysis/paper, cut it down to one page, please. Check your guidelines for the formatting style you need. It should not be difficult to check all your quotations and make sure there are quotation marks around them and a space between the end of the quote and your citation. There are some lovely guides out there for checking your own works cited and citations. We're here to help you with content and structure within the paper, not to nitpick every piece of punctuation. It will make it that much easier on everyone involved if you do some brief checking over it on your own. Thanks very much. ♥

Spent a lovely evening with my sister last night, going over the notes on her short story from her workshop and helping her rearrange/restructure some things. We had a great time figuring out what would and wouldn't help, going off on tangents... Whacking our foreheads whenever it was clear that someone hadn't actually read the story, or were watching a movie and eating while they edited. It's highly unhelpful to have notes that don't have anything to do with the particular section you're editing.

One of my friends was lucky enough to find and land a new job. So we wound up going out to eat with them to celebrate. Fantastic waitress. Fun time. Still job hunting, myself. Putting in applications all over the place, but haven't heard back from a single one of them. I'll keep trying.

We have survived the flood so far in tact - didn't have to burden any friends with our presence. The garage has suffered no lasting harm from being partially submerged, and the car didn't get touched, since I parked on the street rather than in the garage.

There are plans in the works for two group dinners, one tomorrow night and one on Easter, which sound like they're bound to be a lot of fun. My house has sprouted rabbits and lambs and eggs. :D And some candy, too. We sort of went through a mixed bag of Skittles and M&Ms in under 6 hours. *cough* Very healthy of us, I'm sure. But it was tasty!

So all in all, we're keeping our spirits up and, while we're still stressed, we have some fun things to look forward to while still tending to our daily struggles.
