Life in the meantime
Hiya,
man it has been so long since I have updated... okay, let's start with the easy parts:
Work:
Work is fine, high season is over and I have signed my permant contract... I am now Lotcheck Coordinator... so cool and nice pay rise to go with it ^^
Weight Loss:
Weight loss is also going great, except for not being able to train and that my right knee clicks when I go down stairs I have lost quite a lot, the progress can be tracked on my own website here
Personal Life:
Still single... hoping to change that soon... well we will see what happens :)
Have also updated my own website, link is above. There are now pictures of Twinkie and also as mentioned above my weight loss tracking.
Also, thanks to _wyrd_sister_ I now have a new pretty TV... bigger picture and better quality :)
Health:
Yeah this one is the long part. For those of you who know me and have been on my facebook will know that I ahve just come out of hospital after having an operation, here's the whole story:
Monday 26th Oct:
At midday I had mild pain, but since it was my day off I slept and the pain went. After I had something to eat (about 16:00ish) the pain came back, thinking that it was from eating I had a rennie to ease my stomach... nothing so 18:00 came around and I had two choices, normal doc or emergency one... I went for the latter option... bad move! (Pain was in the upper part of my chest and stomach but also worked it's way down to my lower stomach.)
Not only did the doctor basically not take me seriously (even though I was crying I was in so much pain) he made me thought that it was in my head and I was paniking so much he gave me something to calm me down (come on I was in tremdous pain!) he gave me sopme pain meds and checked my heart and told me to go home and if the pain continues to go to another clinc or to my GP the next day.
Phoned some friends of mine and they came to my house, pain wasn't going away and I was sick. Come 22:00 I had enough of being in bed in pain and we called the emergency doctor again, this time (different doctor) he sent me into hospital.
After doing and ultrasound, you could see that my gallbladder was full of stones and this was what was causing me the unbearable pain. They gave me some pain meds so that the pain had finally gone I could finally sleep!
Tuesday 27th Oct:
Did another ultrasound to check stomach and gallbladder, the docs still think my gallbladder is to blame. Checked out my stomach via camera down my throat (was asleep for this) and everything was fine. The doctor decided to pass me onto the surgeon since I was still in apin (which was being controlled by pain medication) since he could find nothing wrong.
Missed the surgeon since I was phoning my family outside... no operation the next day.
Wednesday 28th Oct:
Ate normally, was still in pain. Saw surgoen and had another ultrasound. He confirmed the stones and said it needed to come out; was booked to have operation next day; moved wards.
Thursday 29th Oct:
Operation day... can't remember much of this day... was sick a few times... were some really hot male nurses helping me... that's about all I remember.
Friday 30th Oct:
Doctor who operated on me told me that I was lucky since it was worse than they expected, my gallbladder was close to exploding... it could have more than likely killed me... Had a triage inserted making it hard to move. Didn't eat much and couldn't get out of bed without help.
Saturday 31st Oct:
Walking around was better and triage was removed making me a bit more mobile, but I still couldn't sit up by myself.
Sunday 1st Nov:
Was finally able to get myself to sit up by myself :) Began to eat normal food and to feel fine... wanted to get out. Needle was removed since my vein had enough and the medication could no longer pass through, this meant my left arm was free to move again ^^
Monday 2nd Nov:
Saw my surgeon and again he reminded me how lucky I was. After the lab results came back I got the all clear to go home and was finally allowed out :)
Since then I have seen my GP who has also told me I am lucky to be alive... am really thinking of suing the emergency doctor but I am not sure if I have a case or not :/
So now you know what has been going on... I know it is stupid early hours but I had a nap yesterday so I can't sleep now :(
