On Monday, the weather in Reading wasn't nearly as bad as it was in the rest of the country - wet and miserable but that's all. And the Trent and Mersey has burst its banks in Middlewich.
Down our end of town, the flood meadow is doing its job; Witton Brook has overflowed onto it but that's what it's for. The geese are poddling about, loving it. There's good reason I live this end of town.
Very glad your trip was a safe one though, it's been a bit rough out there.
